UBC in the News: A Pharmaceutical Executive Q&A with UBC President Patrick Lindsay

UBC President Patrick Lindsay began his career in the biopharma industry as a data manager working on a 280,000-patient breast cancer research study that helped define mammography screening guidelines. In the 30 years since then, he’s seen tremendous changes in the industry, including rapid advances in oncology treatments and other therapies, an increasingly global approach to drug development, and a workforce impacted by mergers and acquisitions.

How does an organization anticipate the next momentous change while never losing sight of the needs of clients and their patients? And, how does a leader build a culture that attracts and retains the best talent in a highly-competitive environment?

Patrick Lindsay recently sat down with Pharmaceutical Executive editor, William Looney, for a thought-provoking Q&A, sharing insights about:
• Appreciating diversity in today’s workplace
• Recognizing contributions of “behind-the-scene” team members
• Managing disruptive innovations
• Building a strong management skill set
